Apricot Chutney

The ingredients required for making Apricot Chutney are:

  • Apricots (Khumani)-360 gms
  • Vinegar (Sirka)- 1 cup
  • Salt (Namak)- 2 teaspoons
  • Water-2 cups
  • Red chili pepper (Lal Mirchi)- 1/2 level tsp
  • Cardamom (Elaichi Moti), crushed-2 big
  • Ginger-2 teaspoons
  • Sugar (Cheeni)- 1/4 kg
  • Clove garlic, chopped-1
  • Blanched Almonds-8
  • Raisins-4 teaspoons
You can make Apricot Chutney easily at home. For making Apricot Chutney, you have to first boil apricots in water till it becomes soft. Then peel and smash the boiled apricots and strain the pulp. After that wash the stones of apricots with one cup of water. Next, you have to cook the apricot pulp with garlic, ginger, almonds, raisins and water of washed stones and let all water get absorbed. After that, red chili pepper, sugar, salt, vinegar, cardamoms, all are added to it and cooked till it becomes thick and the color turns to golden brown. Now, your Apricot Chutney is ready to be tasted.

You can put this home made delicious Apricot chutney in an airtight jar and preserve for even one year.
