Tomato Chutney

Chutney is a very popular Indian dish. People of all Indian states like chutney for its mouthwatering taste. Chutney is also very easily digestible. Spicy chutneys also bear nutritional value. An interested buyer of chutney can have them in a retail food shop in India. Different kinds of chutneys are sold in can in India and these are also exported in huge quantity. Proper hygienic standard is always maintained in the time of the preparation of chutneys. Many kinds of chutneys found in Indian include Amla Chutney, Apple mango Chutney, apricot Chutney, banana Chutney, date Chutney and garlic chutney. Other than these chutneys, tomato chutney is also very popular in India for its mouthwatering taste.


Ingredients of tomato chutney

  • Oil 1 tablespoon full
  • Coriander seeds 1tea spoon
  • Brown sugar 1 tea spoon
  • salt according to the taste
  • Hing 2 teaspoons full
  • Methi seeds 1 tea spoon
  • Urad dal 1 tea spoon
  • Dry red chillies 2 nos
  • Green chillies 2nos
  • Fresh tomatoes 2nos


Process of making tomato chutney

Heat the oil on a pan for 1 minute and 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds, urad dal, chillies, hing, corainder seeds and methi are to be mixed with the oil. Add the tomatoes, salt and brown sugar in the oil. The entire mixture is to be fried till all the ingredients are mixed properly and the tomatoes are cooked properly. After the entire mixture is cooked properly the mixture is to be removed from the flame of the oven. Let the mixture be cooled for a few minutes. The cooled mixture is to be ground properly. The paste of the mixture is to be seasoned with the remaining spoon of oil. Now the tomato chutney is prepared to be devoured with hot idlis. Tomato Chutney can also be enjoyed with rice or chpati.
