Sesame Seed Cookies

There are a few very delicious Indian cookies offering real delight to the gourmets. These are made of ingredients found in India. These ingredients include resin, sesame and coconut. Cookies made of these ingredients are available in the retail food shops in India. These cookies are sold as packaged edible foods in the Indian retail food shops. Cookies can be served as snacks to the guests. These are really tasty and bear substantial food value. The cookies are generally made of carbohydrate ingredients. The calorie value of the products made of carbohydrate are always very high and these are also easily digestible. All these have made cookies very favorite food of the people. Sesame seed cookies are also very popular in India for its delicious taste.


Sesame seed cookies can be made in any ordinary Indian kitchen. This can be made using either the traditional Indian oven or microwave oven.

Ingredients of sesame seed cookies

  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 ¼ cups sifted all purpose flour
  • 1 cup toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups light brown sugar ( This sugar should be packed properly)
  • ¾ melted butter


Process of making sesame seed cookies

Cream, butter and sugar should be mixed properly. Vanila and egg are to be mixed with it until it becomes light and fluffy. The mixture prepared is to be stirred with the mixture of sesame seeds baking powder, flour and salt. The malt for making cookies is now ready. The malt is to be dropped by half teaspoonful on the greased baking sheets. The malt on the baking sheet should be spread properly. Bake the mixture at 37o C for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes' baking the baked mixture should be carefully removed from the fry pan. Now delicious sesame seed cookies are ready to be served. 5 dozens of cookies can be made from this mixture.
