Toor Daal

Toor Daal is one of the most palatable preparations of pulses. Toor Daal is prepared meticulously by using the perfect blend of spice.

Ingredients required for cooking Toor Daal:

  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • Turmeric Powder
  • Salt
  • Little bit of Asafoetida
  • 1 cup Toor Daal
  • 2 Dry Red Chillies
  • 1 Lemon
  • 3 Garlic Cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon of brown sugar prepared from palm sap
  • 1 tablespoon of ghee.




Procedures for preparation of Toor Daal:

Toor Daal ,with water and turmeric powder is cooked in the pressure cooker
The cooked Toor Daal is crushed.
Oil is heated in the frying pan. Cumin seeds, red chillies and garlic are added to the oil and fried till a splashing sound is heard.

The pulse is mixed with water and salt and added to the frying pan.

The pulse is boiled and a little bit of brown sugar is added.
The pulse is cooked for 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes,the Toor pulse is mixed with lemon and then served.
