Punjab is a beautiful state located in the northern part of India. Famous for its culture, festival and food Punjab is mainly popular for its mouthwatering food. Punjabi food is famous everywhere. Punjabi food include various types of traditional food. It include vegetarian, non-vegetarian and sweet dish. Some Punjabi food are very spice while some are not. Apart from these food there are many other Punjabi food. The mouth watering delicacies of Punjab are not very tasty but they are also very easy to make. Most of the Punjabi food include all spices. One of the famous dishes of Punjab is the combination of Makke ki Roti (Punjabi Corn Bread) and Sarson ka Saag. Here is a recipe for Makki ki Roti.



Ingredients: 3 cups of corn meal, melted butter, 1.25 cup of boiling water and salt to taste.

Preparation: Take the corn meal and bit of salt and mix it in a bowl. After mixing pour the hot water into the mixture and knead to make a dough. Use a big spoon or spatula for making the dough. After making the dough divide the dough into ten small balls and roll each to make a circular disc. Then cook the bread with butter or oil on a skillet on a medium heat. Then serve the Roti hot with a chutney or sauce.
